Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF)
Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) is a reinforced, cast-in place concrete wall system where the formwork (typically expanded polystyrene) remains a permanent element of the assembly. Wall system configurations vary with manufacturers, but the basic concept is a structural concrete wall encased in a continuous energy efficient cladding on interior and exterior face. Benefits include flexible design capabilities, cost competitive construction, and contribution to a “greener” building envelope.
