The U.S. Green Building Council LEED™ rating system offers a roadmap to high-performing buildings that can earn certification levels from Certified to Platinum. Masonry contractors are responsible for work in four of five categories:

- Energy & Atmosphere
- Materials & Resources
- Indoor Environmental Quality
- Water Efficiency
